The trips to Rwanda have been a huge blessing to every participant.  Starting with the Rwandans.  We have seen that over time the way they smile and their greetings seem to be filled with love and trust. We have been privileged to go now to two different communities with teams from the USA.

We went to the first community 5 years ago. Since then we have seen them stand taller, and sing louder, and improve the way they dress. For so many years they were told that they had no value, it definitely had an impact on the way they saw themselves.  Now they are able to see that they are capable of doing things to be able to succeed in life. Those communities are also holding community outreach events to show others the love of Christ.

It is exactly what God told us to do. Matthew 28:19-20 Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this:  I am with you always even to the end of age.

The result of God propelling people to go to Rwanda and stand in front of sisters and brothers in Christ and proclaim His love for them.  Shows them that they are not forgotten, and the purest of joy comes when a person realizes that the Lord of heaven and earth knows them and loves them

For the people of the USA who have traveled with us the impact is just as profound.  Many people who have had terribly challenging lives from abuse to rape to health challenges, some how by the grace of God hear the call to go.  The blessing starts with the team preparation.  Going through scripture to see what the Lord tells us to do.  Matthew 22:37-40 You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important love your neighbor as yourself.  Then as we work together to see what God tells us, we apply it to the team.

It becomes a great process of walking closer to the Lord. By the time we go, the affirmation of how God sees us loving others, and tells us to love others becomes a part of our daily thought process. We are preparing to do things that we are unfamiliar with, so it becomes very important to rely on God. That is a wonderful place to be in your spiritual walk.

These people usually get very involved in their churches and communities to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Romans 10:15 How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news

Working with Solace Ministries has shown us that God is healing and helping people all over the world. It is exciting to be a part of his great commission!!
